Donny Inbar, who has led parallel careers in Israeli theater and media, directed and translated several plays, served as the Cultural Attache at the Israeli Consulate in San Francisco and is currently a doctoral student at GTU, Berkeley, specializing in Abraham Goldfaden and Yiddish Theater. He has taught several courses on Jewish and Israeli cinema, music and theater. He specializes in Yiddish theater and Abraham Goldfaden; his main interest is in the role of Yiddish theater in secularizing late 19th Century Eastern European Jews.
