Theodore Bikel in Concert
An Academy Award-winning actor and internationally renowned folksinger, Theodore Bikel was also an activist in the Soviet Jewry Freedom Movement.
One of the world’s best-known folk singers and a founder in 1961 of the Newport Folk Festival, the multi-faceted entertainer maintains an active concert schedule throughout the United States and abroad, with some 50 to 60 concerts per year, performing alone or with large symphony orchestras.
Presented in association with The Magnes and the Center for Jewish Studies, Graduate Theological Union, in conjunction with the Captives of the Dawn: Remembering Soviet Yiddish Culture conference taking place at GTU, Sunday, November 4, the Annual Taube Conference on Eastern European Jewish Culture and History.
